Pete Doherty: Étretat, his haven of peace and setting for his new video "The Day The Baron Died"

Étretat isn't just a source of inspiration for Pete Doherty; it's also his home. The British musician settled in this idyllic setting, and it was only natural that he chose the majestic cliffs as the backdrop for his latest music video, "The Day the Baron Died."

Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, Étretat offers Pete Doherty a haven of peace where he can unleash his creativity. The music video for "The Day the Baron Died" perfectly captures the song's melancholic and poetic atmosphere, in harmony with the raw and wild beauty of the surrounding landscapes.

This track, taken from his upcoming album, reveals a softer, more introspective side of the artist. The images of the cliffs, steeped in history and mystery, blend perfectly with the sensitivity of the melody.

By choosing to live and shoot his music video in Étretat, Pete Doherty demonstrates his attachment to this unique place, where nature and art meet.

His next album Felt Better Alive will be released on May 16th!

On April 28, 1925, the International Exhibition of Decorative and Industrial Arts opened. which, through 150 pavilions located in the heart of Paris, marks the triumph of the Art Deco style developed from the 1910s. A symbol of modernity, this new decorative order, which is characterized by the geometrization of lines, the simplification of forms and the use of stylized motifs, is a total art that concerns architecture, sculpture, furniture and decor.

Art Deco in Le Havre

Le Havre did not escape the craze of the Roaring Twenties for this new aesthetic which, between 1919 and 1939, marked monuments as well as buildings, pavilions, shops and cinemas.

One hundred years later, the exhibition presented at the Maison du patrimoine offers an overview of the most remarkable local achievements based on the recent publication by Christine d'Aboville and Patrick Bertrand entitled L'Art déco au Havre et ses environs (OREP éditions, 2024). Their work reveals, despite the destruction of the Second World War, the quality and diversity of the Art Deco heritage in the area that the exhibition and the many events scheduled until the summer will help you rediscover in all the districts.
